Glove, batting helmet with cage, softball cleats, softball bat (optional), athletic clothing, and water bottle. We recommend bringing sunscreen, extra hair ties, sliding shorts, and a positive attitude ready to learn and compete.
Teams practice 2-3 times per week for 2-4 hours each session. The tournament schedule includes 12-16 tournaments per season from March through July, with most being weekend events. Players should expect additional commitments including team meetings, fundraising activities, and optional skills clinics.
There is no cost to participate in our tryouts. Based on recent industry data, travel softball team registration fees across the US typically range from $3,000-$6,000 per season, with additional expenses for travel, equipment, and tournaments. We encourage all families to discuss actual costs, payment plans, and budget expectations directly with our coaching staff during the tryout process to receive accurate information for your specific situation and realistic family planning.
Teams are formed by birth year with January 1 cutoff dates. We offer multiple skill levels (A, B, C teams) within age groups. Placement considers current skill level, previous experience, physical development, family commitment level, and geographic proximity to practice facilities.
Most of our SoCal teams practice at On Deck Batting Cages in Signal Hill and Long Beach City College. We also use fields and facilities around the SoCal area, depending on each team’s needs. This gives our players top-notch training and plenty of variety.
